Info
Hide My Face is a performance installation by Peter Scherrebeck, also known as Misty Superdeluxe. It’s centered around the unique ‘Mouth Singing’ technique they’ve crafted, where two people take up different positions to sing into each other’s mouths. This way, they turn each other’s bodies into resonating chambers, becoming vessels that channel the flow of present, past, and future.
The song performed was penned by Scherrebeck on a journey to Portugal, exploring maternal lineage and intergenerational trauma. The performers are accompanied by a video installation in a ceramic vase, showcasing an alternate rendition of the performance. This creates a canon composition interweaving past, present, and future.
