Info

Longo Longo promises a steamy night of dancing, led by a lyrical giant of a band with one clear mission: to bring the party from the stage straight to the crowd. This Spanish-language explosion is fuelled by a tight-knit crew of gloriously unhinged musicians — all fully committed to getting your hips shaking.
A battery of drummers to drive you into a trance, a row of ripping saxophones to lift you off the ground, and a deep, humid bassline to melt into — that’s Longo Longo. The Spanish-language vocals draw on the Cuban folk melodies of singer-songwriter Luis Angel Almenares’ childhood. Expansive, high-energy improvisations flow into psychedelic licks, funky riffs and dope beats. Longo Longo is steeped in the legacy of icons like George Clinton, Sun Ra and The Afrika Shrine — the legendary 1970s nightclub founded by afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.
