Info
Mezrab is one of the biggest storytelling stages in Europe. Its home base is in Amsterdam, where hundreds of visitors from all over the world gather every week to listen to stories: personal and ancient ones. The stories change and evolve depending on who is listening. The themes of the stories that are shared often spark deeper conversations that carry on deep into the night…
Mezrab brings storytelling in its most raw, original form: there’s no fourth wall, no props or theatricality, no detailed script. As you listen to the story unfold, you tend to forget that there’s a stage, audience, and even performers — all that remains is a story that plays out in the realm of your imagination.
You are in the story just as much as the storyteller: whether it’s the first day of school, locking eyes with a stranger on a bus, or visiting your parents’ home for the very last time. Reality fades back in after the last word is spoken, but the feelings linger: love, joy, the excitement of the unknown, fear and hope.
On stage in varying composition: Irina Koriazova (host), Chidi Ebere, Fer Rodil, Rod Ben Zeev and Danni Cullen.
