From east to west, two performers cross the island in a continuous stream of costume changes, accompanied by a one-man band. From plain white T-shirts to glittery ball gowns, hundreds of outfits pass by to the rhythm of live music. The performance playfully challenges our instinct to label, categorise and judge. What do we reveal through our second skin?
Clothing shapes who we are, who we want to be — and sometimes, who we’re expected to be. Do we wear our clothes, or do they wear us? Familiar combinations are twisted into new norms in a hypnotic ritual of constant transformation. Catwalk Continuüm is the result of Zwermers’ years-long exploration into clothing and the fluid nature of identity. It’s an ode to human diversity — and a healthy antidote to rigid boxes and stifling labels. As the performers wind their way for hours through shifting landscapes, you choose your own pace. Stay as long as you like.
