Oerol Festival has grown into the largest site specific arts festival in Europe over the course of more than 40 years, annually welcoming numerous (inter)national professionals and around 50,000 visitors.
It provides a platform for both established groups and emerging talents, offering a diverse programme of site-specific performances, street theatre, music, visual arts, storytelling, talks, and context. Oerol creates a rich experience for artists, professionals, island residents, partners and visitors.
Since 2017, Oerol has had a stable position in the cultural landscape as part of the Dutch Basic Infrastructure (BIS), with modest structural funding. In addition to this subsidy, Oerol enters into collaborations with sponsors, funds, and other partners, looking for common ground and new ways of working with strengthen each other. This way, we increase support, societal value, and growth opportunities for the festival and our partners.
