Whether you enjoy spontaneous street performances, beach parties, or forest shows, with Oerol, you can explore the island – from east to west, from dykes to beaches.
Festival Wristband
With this wristband, you can enjoy unlimited access to the festival hub, De Deining, throughout the event. Located on and near the North Sea beach, this vibrant heart of the festival serves as a central meeting place, featuring live music acts, storytelling, talks, street theatre, and beach dancing. Additionally, there are around ten annual Expeditions (visual art installations) that you can explore at your own pace during the day, simply by showing your festival wristband. If you’d like to attend a performance, you’ll also need to have the wristband on your wrist and present a valid ticket for scanning.
By purchasing a wristband, you’re supporting our educational projects, helping to protect the island’s natural environment, and contributing to our efforts to make Oerol accessible to everyone—now and in the future.

Jopies
Are you 35 years old or younger? Then we call you a Jopie! The inspiration? Our founding father Joop Mulder, who started Oerol before he turned 30 and once famously said, “If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.” What began as small-scale street theatre on the doorstep of his café in Midsland has grown into what it is today: the largest site-specific arts festival in Europe.
Grab your Jopie festival wristband for just €35, with a great discount off the regular price. All you need to do is add your date of birth to your Mijn Oerol account, and voilà—you’re in the club and gain access to exclusive perks, discounts, tips, and activities. Your age will be verified when you collect your wristband on Terschelling.
Note: You can purchase a maximum of 1 Jopie festival wristband per person/account.

Day Wristband
Planning to visit Oerol Festival for just one or two days? You can purchase a day wristband. Online, you can buy a €25 ticket for a day wristband without a specific date. During the festival, you can exchange your ticket at one of the service points for a wristband for your chosen day. Day wristbands will be available once the programme is online.
de Deining Day Pass (or Stamp)
Want to join your friends at De Deining but, oops, you don’t have a festival wristband? We won’t leave you out in the cold! Starting this year, you can purchase a one-time entry to De Deining at the gate. Enjoy the fun, and if you’re having a good time, you can buy a regular (day) wristband. This is the only way Oerol can continue to exist, and of course, we’d love to see you more often. The day pass is only available during the festival at the De Deining service point.
Free Access
Discover surprising street theatre in the villages of Terschelling and at various other locations across the island. Be sure to visit De Streken, the landscape art piece by Marc van Vliet.
While these activities do have costs, we believe it’s important that everyone has the opportunity to take part, so we offer them with free access. If you’d like to support our activities, donations are always welcome.
