Literary makers Marieke ‘earworm’ Ornelis, Mees ‘small hands’ van Rijswijk and Johannes ‘roadkill deer’ Lievens refuse to cut a single line — something they’re constantly expected to do as writers. Instead, they serve up everything: brain dumps, singalongs, rants and unruly textual sludge. All of it lands squarely on your plate in their messy, musical search for something to hold onto.
In dark political and ecological times, DRIE DAGEN FRIS is curious about the things people hold onto — if only to avoid toppling over themselves. This search for steadiness sparks new texts, scenes, songs and other material. The result is a series of playful performances that open the door to rethinking big questions like capitalism, gender and work — with a healthy dose of humour.
This performance is part of the Explore the North Hub. From 13 to 22 June, Explore the North presents work across the island by emerging talents connected to its production house. Explore the North is both a festival and a creative production house based at Podium Explore in Leeuwarden.
