But every time he thinks back to that moment, he hears his father’s words: “If you use your imagination, you’ll be amazed at what you can do with just a piece of rope.” And it turns out — it’s a lot more than you’d think…
Lucas Roberts is a magician, presenter, and professional entertainer! Since the age of 18, he has been working full-time in this industry. Thanks to his theatrical background, he presents his magic in an original, distinctive, and high-calibre manner. It all began when he was 9 years old—he received a magic trick in his shoe from Sinterklaas. From that moment on, he was certain: “Later, I’ll be a magician.” In Year 4, he gave his first performance for the kindergarteners at his own primary school, and before long, more shows followed. Lucas not only learned more tricks but also began creating his own with his grandfather—whom he affectionately calls “pake.” Together, they became a real team.
In 2018, Lucas participated in the Dutch Theatre Magic Championships. In 2019, he secured third place in the theatre category at Kunstbende Friesland, and in 2022 he received the first prize. In 2024, he even won the national final! Now, as a grand prize from Kunstbende, Lucas has the opportunity to showcase his talents and skills at Oerol.
