Krrrrrang grrrbp brrroef beep, growl, honk and bang — BUI brings a bubbling cauldron of sounds, ideas and materials to Oerol. Through improvisation, listening and movement, something begins to bubble up — always different, always unique. With a saxophone, a trombone, a few drums, and whatever the island has to offer.
Once upon a time, a group of hungry travellers tricked a village into sharing a meal by filling a soup pot with stones — and inviting everyone to contribute what they had. BUI brings this story to Oerol. The hungry travellers are musicians with sharpened ears, the soup pot is filled with brass instruments and percussion. And with a few melodies that ask for a reply, some sounds, a rhythm. What will the soup sound like? We’ll have to wait and see — it all depends on the ingredients the villagers bring. Each time different, bubbling up in the here and now.
