Code of Conduct

Stichting Terschellings Oerol Festival (hereinafter referred to as Oerol) strives to be a safe space that is free from any form of oppression. We take responsibility for a safe working environment for everyone involved in the organization. Oerol recognizes that this requires a joint and continuous effort and we ask everyone, from management/supervisory board, employee to visitor, to actively support this goal. We expect both employees and third parties to behave collegially and respectfully in their dealings with everyone else and to avoid undesirable forms of conduct, regardless of whether there are hierarchical differences in function or position between them.

Everyone who works at Oerol, participates in Oerol’s programs, visits Oerol or provides a service, is partly responsible for a safe climate. Physical and verbal violence and any other form of racism, sexism, ableism, homo-, trans- and xenophobia, age-related discrimination, unwanted and (sexual) transgressive behavior will not be tolerated. This means, among other things:

  • Terschellings Oerol Festival Foundation is an inclusive space;
  • everyone working and involved at Oerol treats each other with respect;
  • opinions may differ;
  • discussions are resolved through dialogue;
  • physical and verbal abuse will not be tolerated
