With pixels, paint and living bodies, SONGOFSONGS creates a sensual stream of images on stage. Inspired by the Biblical Song of Songs, this musical video installation explores ecological love and connection. A woman in transition, Mommy, searches together with her community for new ways of loving — boundless, circular, and in deep entanglement with the more-than-human world.
Mommy is a woman halfway through her life, discovering a love that reaches beyond the human — connected to the microbes in our bodies and the fungi in the soil. SONGOFSONGS brings an ecological orgy to the stage, where visual art, music and movement merge into a sensory experience. A circular, intuitive narrative in which relationships matter more than individuals. For this work, Boogaerdt van der Schoot collaborates with composer, spoken word artist and choreographer OTION, known from De tijd zal ons leren (nominated for the Theo d’Or 2024).
