In close consultation with the Supervisory Board, Mikey Martins has decided to step down from his position as Director of Oerol Festival as of 30 September. The Board respects Mikey’s wish to explore new opportunities.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have played a small part in the long story that is Oerol Festival. To have lived here on the island has been a wonderful experience and I thank many local people for their warm welcome, support and collaboration. I wish the Oerol team all the best for the next chapter ahead Mikey Martins
During his time with Oerol, Mikey demonstrated his expertise, commitment, dedication, and affection for both the festival and Terschelling. In recognition of this, the Board wishes him every success in the next stage of his career.
As of 1 October, the Supervisory Board has appointed Jiska Bazuin and Sabine Pater as a dual directors team. Both have long been part of the management team and know the organisation inside out. The Board has full confidence in this step and looks forward to the 45th edition of Oerol Festival in June.
