This year, together with TerschellingTV, we’re taking you behind the scenes at Oerol. In a weekly item, you’ll get to know two members of the team. They’ll tell you who they are, what they do – and what they think you absolutely shouldn’t miss at the festival.
Tips for Oerol 2025
Zwermers – Catwalk Continuüm
You might remember Zwermers from Pan~// Catwalk at Oerol 2024. This year, they’re back with the 6-hour-long Catwalk Continuüm – a performance that explores how we use clothing to create identity, and how that shapes the way we see each other. In a visual and musical parade, accompanied by a one-man band, the performers present an endless stream of outfits – from simple T-shirts to extravagant glitter gowns. A tribute to the versatility of humanity and the power of transformation.

Uit Je Duinpan
What once started as small parties in the dunes and bunkers of Terschelling has grown into Uit Je Duinpan: parties where everyone is welcome and the dance floor is created together. On Saturday, June 14, DjØrk will be behind the decks at festival hub De Deining. A vinyl junkie, he started spinning records in 1998 and was the resident DJ at De Braskoer in West for many years.Dancing guaranteed!
Via Berlin – When did you leave?
Via Berlin presents When Did You Leave?, a gripping music theater piece that pulls you into a suffocating family dinner you can’t escape. With sharp dialogue, tense silences, and a soundtrack that makes the tension palpable, this performance exposes the painful fault lines within a family — and society. If we no longer understand each other, how do we still find one another? An emotional journey that stays with you.

More on Oerol 2025…
Festival heart de Deining
Between the dunes of West aan Zee, you’ll find the central Oerol meeting place: de Deining – a spot where you can spend the whole day eating, drinking, and dancing together. On the site, there are three stages: de Vallei, Ruige Hoek, and de Huiskamer. Here, you can enjoy concerts, talks, spoken word, theater acts, and end the day dancing with changing DJs – with the sunset as the main act.
Strandtheater
New this year is the Strandtheater, a wooden amphitheater in a unique location: right on the beach of West aan Zee, where you’re close to the performers and immersed in a flow of stories, music, and theater. Experience a performance like rarely seen: in the middle of an arena, surrounded by energy and audience, with the creators at the heart of the action.
It only takes a few minutes to walk from the festival hub De Deining to the Strandtheater, so come by after an upbeat show and let yourself be amazed in this theater. Wiggle your toes in the sand, look out over the sea, and be touched by what unfolds on stage.
