Oerol Professionals

Work, place, conversations

Oerol is more than a festival — it’s a meeting place for cultural professionals working in dialogue with landscape, public spaces and often with a site specific results. Each year, artists, programmers, producers, funders and researchers come to Terschelling to experience bold new work, exchange ideas, and deepen their understanding of multi disciplinary arts.

Oerol 2025 has come to a close. During ten days, we welcomed audiences, artists, and over 500 professionals to Terschelling for ten days of performances, installations, and shared reflection. The professionals programme ran from 16–19 June, and brought together colleagues from across the Netherlands, Europe and beyond to explore the intersection of art, place, and community.

What accreditation offers

With a professionals accreditation, you can make the most of your time on the island:

  • Join the professionals programme, featuring discussions, workshops, and networking moments.
  • Get early access to tickets through the professionals presale, helping you curate your own schedule.
  • Create a professionals profile to connect with like-minded peers, potential collaborators, and industry leaders.

A new professionals programme will return in 2026. The next edition of Oerol takes place from 12 to 21 June 2026, and accreditation will reopen in spring.

Looking back at Oerol Professionals 2025

Our professionals programme in 2025 was an international gathering marking the start of a new four-year cycle for IN SITU, the European platform for artistic creation in public space. Oerol is a founding member of the network and hosted the first public meeting of the new IN SITU PLATFORM project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, bringing more than 30 festival professionals from across Europe and beyond. We also welcomed partners from the LAND network, as well as several thematic delegations exploring community engagement and site-specific contemporary music practices.
