Meet at De Deining – the beating heart of Oerol
In the dunes of West aan Zee you will find the central Oerol meeting place: De Deining – where you can hang out all day and eat, drink and dance together. On the grounds, you will enjoy concerts, talks, word art, theatre acts and end the day dancing to different DJs – with the sunset as the main act.
Stages
De Deining is more than just fun: it is the cultural and culinary heart of Oerol. You will find three stages, each with its own atmosphere and programme:
- de Vallei: our main stage, with big concerts, international DJs and acts you can go wild to.
- de Ruige Hoek: the stage for those who dare to discover: here, young makers show their experimental work.
- de Huiskamer: intimate and inspiring, with daily talks, word art and a talk show full of festival stories.
Food and drink
You can also satisfy your appetite and thirst on De Deining. Caterers from Terschelling serve a surprising and largely vegetarian offer, complemented by local and sustainable fish. At the bars, you can get anything from a good espresso to a local special beer.
De Deining is the place where everything comes together: artists, islanders, visitors and stories. Moreover, your drink or snack here contributes directly to making Oerol possible – so enjoy to the full.

Access
To visit De Deining, you need an Oerol wristband. With an Oerol day wristband you can enter for 2 days. If you want an one-time entry to De Deining, buy a day stamp at the entrance to the festival heart.
