Cloud Cukkoo, aka Jori van Gemert, makes what she calls ‘danceable depression’: fluid, dreamy indie pop filled with humour, disarming honesty and raw edges. Cloud Cukkoo creates a world of her own, a place where you can land without shame.
Jori van Gemert is the creative brain behind Cloud Cukkoo: a quirky pop project full of guts, vulnerability and innovative sounds. In 2023, she played a successful Popronde with more than 30 shows and gained international success when her track Alice was used in the winning final dance of Let’s Dance – Germany’s biggest TV show. Soon after, her debut EP Half-Forgotten Dream was released. Cloud Cukkoo is no longer a promise, but a phenomenon in full bloom.
