Madame Jeanette is a theatrical live kitchen talk show, dishing up peppery conversation and spicy seasonings. It’s a heartfelt attempt to keep listening — even when things heat up in a polarised world. Good food brings people together, and no one ever died from an honest exchange of views. Or so we hope…
Each day, populist talkshow host Joey welcomes two guests into his culinary arena. As they share the stories behind the dishes and the secrets behind the flavours, they try to get closer — though the spice level can be unpredictable. In pluktuin De Groenhof, popular chef Donnie Dinsdag cooks alongside part of the audience, using local ingredients to create dishes rooted in the cultural backgrounds of the performers. A new recipe each day, a conversation to chew over.
How do we actually talk to each other?
We have conversations every day—on the street, at home, at work. But are we really listening? What happens when someone says something that completely contradicts what you believe? Are we willing to face the discomfort?

If you choose a participation ticket when booking, you’ll not only get a behind-the-scenes look—you’ll also have a voice in the performance. Get involved in the story, ask questions, share your ideas. How could the characters better understand one another? And what does that say about us? Think along, listen, and speak up! An interactive performance about disagreement, truly listening, and living together in a time full of noise.
Please note: if you choose a participation ticket, it’s important to arrive half an hour before the performance starts. Prefer not to take part? Choose a regular ticket if you just want to watch and listen.
