Collectief Walden has come to an end. That’s why they’re looking for someone to take over their long-term thinking — ideally for the next 998 years. To mark the occasion, they’re performing NAU one very last time, so anyone interested can come and browse the inventory of their ideas in festive fashion. Who will carry the tradition forward?
Their contracts have been torn up, the emotional fragments auctioned off, and the finest works have found their way to office walls, sculpture gardens and the beach. As a final act, the collective gives away their beautiful ideals – still a perfect fit, but out of fashion now that a world leader is bringing back plastic straws and we treat strangers in need more harshly than ever. Voices fall silent, and even the largest protests fail to make a dent. All that’s left is to dance. Welcome to the farewell party of Collectief Walden – may it last for years to come.
Collectief Walden has – like the funding that supported them – come to an end. That’s why NAU, 2e jaring will mostly be the same as NAU, 1e jaring in 2024, but this time on the beach.
