Info

We receive millions of stimuli every second. But how do your brain and body process all that input? What impact does it have on your behaviour and how you feel? And can we truly put ourselves in the shoes of someone whose sensory processing works differently from our own?
In this Prikkel: Workshop, Schweigman& delves deeper into the question: how does sensory processing work for you and for me? Through playful physical and sensory-based exercises, you will explore the world of the senses. These embodied experiences not only offer a deeper understanding of how everyone processes stimuli in a unique way, but also provide insight into your own way of perceiving and responding. The workshop is accessible to everyone. No prior theatre experience is required.
The workshop is led by Marrit Bausch, an actress, theatre maker, and long-standing theatre educator closely connected to Schweigman&.
In 2023, the Utrecht-based theatre company Schweigman& initiated Prikkel, an exhibition about neurodiversity and sensory processing where art and science came together. During Oerol, Schweigman& continues the project with kindred creator Johannes Bellinkx in a series of sensory experiences that play with perception in Prikkel: Lichtgang & Kanteling and Prikkel: Binnenste Buiten, Lichtgang & Kanteling.
