Info
In this personal performance, Patrick Ribeiro explores whether you can truly leave your past behind—especially when it holds acts that are hard to forgive, even for yourself. Using spoken word, drill rap, poetry and the soundscape of the street, he tells the story of a boy who rejects the right to start over.
Hoogvliet, Rotterdam, late 1990s. Through a chain of events, a young boy finds his home on the streets. There, he meets kindred spirits: a uniform group, made invincible by the motto ‘strong together, all for one’. Among endless tower blocks, the street becomes his arena. Until he falls in love. A war erupts within him. He resists surrendering to something new — something that might be beautiful, but whose consequences he cannot foresee. Will he let go of everything he’s learned so far?
This performance contains scenes depicting sexual violence.
