(Stil)Stand is a grounded yet fluid dance duet that examines our inability to embrace silence and stillness. A confrontational powerlessness from which the dancers try to escape by any means. Can you find peace in, or escape from, something as endless as silence or stillness?
Imagine this: you’re on a treadmill, which is slightly too fast for a brisk walk, but too slow for a jog. You want to get off, reduce the speed, but then what if you fall behind? What if time catches up with you? Suddenly you pull the emergency brake. You feel relief, but also fear the consequences. Can you slow down without guilt, or will life suck you back in? In (Stil)Stand, the dancers explore the fragile balance between our desire for rest and movement.
