Zuco103 was founded in 1999 by Dutch drummer Stefan Kruger, German keyboardist Stefan Schmid, and Brazilian vocalist Lilian Vieira. The band emerged from the vibrant acid jazz scene and is connected to groups such as SFeQ and New Cool Collective. With their modern interpretation of the Brazilian Tropicália movement, Zuco103 delivers an energetic, danceable fusion of styles.
The band is renowned for their dynamic live performances. They have toured globally and played at international festivals, including Roskilde, Sziget, Glastonbury, Rock Werchter, Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz Festival San Sebastian, and Fuji Rock Festival. In the Netherlands, they’ve performed at events such as Lowlands, Pinkpop, and multiple times at the North Sea Jazz Festival. In 2025, they will celebrate their 25-year career with new releases, remixes, and various shows, including one at Oerol.
