New Members of the Supervisory Board of Oerol Festival

On 18 February, two new members joined the Supervisory Board (RVT) of Oerol Festival: Dianne Zuidema and Cindy Loeff.

The board is delighted to welcome the new members. Chair Jerry Straub said: “We are extremely proud and pleased that Dianne Zuidema, Managing Director of DeLaMar Theater, and Cindy Loeff, partner at Deloitte, have joined the Supervisory Board of Oerol Festival. Dianne knows Oerol and the cultural sector inside out. Her business expertise, programming insight, governance experience and supervisory track record are unique and of great added value. The same goes for Cindy, with her extensive experience in audit and accountancy matters and her advisory work in both the public and private sectors, including international organizations. Both professionals are true assets, also because of their independent and connecting personalities.”

Dianne is well known to the festival. From 2001 to 2006, she served as Managing Director of Oerol: “At the beginning of my career, I had the opportunity to work for Oerol, and I consider it a great honour to contribute once again to this wonderful festival on the most beautiful island, this time in a different role. The festival is unique in the Netherlands and a cornerstone for both audiences and theatre makers. I very much look forward to helping Oerol move into its next phase together with the board, the team and the other Supervisory Board members.”

Cindy Loeff brings in-depth knowledge of the financial world and is enthusiastic about her new role: “A wonderful opportunity to be involved with such a historic and widely renowned festival. In this way, I am pleased to contribute to the preservation and future resilience of Oerol.”

The Supervisory Board oversees the general policy and overall operations of Stichting Oerol and acts as a sounding board and sparring partner for the Executive Board. It safeguards the festival’s mission, vision and core values, and monitors the balance between artistic quality, social impact, sound governance and long-term continuity.
