Are you an artist working in and with public space? Then this might be for you. IN SITU, the European network for art in public space of which Oerol is a member, has launched a new Open Call within the PLATFORM programme for artists who are developing an artistic project.

Learning, sharing, and growing within a European network

Open Call #2 offers artists the opportunity to further develop their work within the European IN SITU network. Selected participants gain access to online sessions about artistic creation in public space, including workshops by the international network On the Move, conversations with experienced IN SITU artists, and short videos and webinars featuring programmers and artists from across Europe.

In addition, they will take part in a six-day immersive lab — a working week hosted by one of the IN SITU partners, where artists come together to join workshops, attend performances, and share their ideas with international programmers.

The Open Call aims to support artists in advancing their practice. Alongside knowledge and inspiration, the programme offers opportunities for new collaborations and production residencies. A selection of the projects will eventually be presented at the HAPU Festival in Pristina, Kosovo, in 2027.

Key dates and practical information

Open Call #2 is now open – an invitation for artists to bring their ideas for art in public space to life. You can submit your proposal until 18 December. On 9 and 10 February, the network partners will review all submissions to make the new selection, and the results will be announced at the end of February.

All information about the Open Call can be found via the button below. To make it accessible to everyone, the materials are available in multiple formats: as an audio version, a video with English subtitles, and as a document in large print with a calm, neutral background.

Application and accessibility

You can find the application form for PLATFORM Open Call #2 via the button below. IN SITU warmly invites artists from all backgrounds to submit their proposals and is actively committed to promoting diversity and inclusion.

Do you have specific accessibility needs? There is space to discuss these — the team is happy to think along with you. On the IN SITU website, you will also find a detailed Q&A with frequently asked questions and an overview of the application form questions, so you can prepare in advance.

Oerol and the IN SITU network

Oerol is a co-founder of IN SITU and we’re proud to see the network continue to grow, attract new members, and remain a valuable source of support for artists in this new phase. Over the past twenty years, many Dutch makers have found their way to international stages through the network — including Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, Collectief Walden, Via Berlin, Emke Idema, and Johannes Bellinkx.
