Location

You are undoubtedly familiar with this, but it is still worth mentioning: locations at Oerol are always subject to external factors and can change due to natural developments on and around the location. A maximum of two weeks before a location is put into use, a “quick scan” is carried out on the location. Ecologists will check whether, for example, birds have started breeding on or near the playground. If this shows that your location cannot be used, we will look for an alternative in consultation with you.

Second location visit
Early April, the production coordinator will contact you to coordinate whether you want to schedule a second location visit in the second half of April. Then we can also coordinate things like the placement of the battery, backstage and grandstand, approach routes for the audience and approach routes for the decor.

Facilities

With the production coordinator you can coordinate what facilities you need at the location (think of a grandstand, a backstage tent, huts or water). From Oerol we ensure that (in consultation with you) the location is equipped with the desired facilities.

Oerol provides signage to the locations. The signs for this are placed by the Wardploeg, our site crew. Every day we check whether all signs are still in place. If you notice that a sign has disappeared, please contact your production coordinator.

Working on location also involves a lot of large equipment. With the help of shovels, tractors and cranes, we ensure that all the necessary equipment also ends up in remote or difficult to reach places. For this, we work together with various parties on the island, including contracting company TripHek and Hoekstra & Zn. Crane and Machine Rental.

Budget

Based on your wishes and input, we will draw up a production budget from Oerol. You will receive this budget mid-May. The costs that Oerol will pay for (such as for the location and stands) are included in the financial agreement.

In order to provide an insight into the costs associated with production facilities, we have drawn up the Oerol Standard price List 2025. For an initial indication of the costs for the various power supplies, we have created the document Power at Oerol 2025 .

Surveillance

During the festival, all Oerol locations will be guarded by mobile teams of security guards between 00:00 and 08:00. During the remaining hours, the company itself is responsible for the location. Companies that arrive on the island earlier are responsible for the security themselves prior to the festival. Unless other agreements have been made or it has been agreed otherwise in the contract.

Waste

Waste bins are placed at various locations. You are always responsible for properly separating waste and for keeping your location clean and tidy.

We stimulate circular, cradle-to-cradle and/or less material use. Use of single-use plastic and tableware, use of straws, balloons or confetti and contaminated liquids (such as paint, grease or solvents) on the location are not permitted. Do you have your own fire extinguisher? Then make sure that it contains biodegradable extinguishing foam.

Waste can be disposed of at the TST on the West-Terschelling business park: www.tstterschelling.nl/informatie/afval. Costs will be charged for this. However, please provide the name of your group so that we have insight into which group the costs were incurred for. This concerns the dumping of ‘normal’ waste. We want to discourage the dumping of bulky waste on the island (for example, set pieces). If you do want to dump more, please contact your production coordinator for consultation.
