BLAUWDRUK takes a whirlwind dive through history. The goal? To topple the privileged position of Western humanity. One last time, Vondel goes through the shredder. The collective bundles their three acclaimed adaptations of Adam in Ballingschap, Lucifer, and Gijsbrecht van Amstel into one overwhelming triathlon of site-specific theatre, sweeping you along to the end of (privileged) times.
In Paradijs Aan Het Einde (2023), we see the first inhabitants of Earth struggle with ambition and individualism. In Recht Op De Hemel (2021), once-privileged angels are forced to clip their wings following the death of God. And in Ik Hoop Op Zegen (2020), future mayor Gijsbrecht faces a choice as the water rises: sink or swim? Through themes of ambition, self-entitlement, and pride, Collectief BLAUWDRUK dissects Western privilege. Step into the blissfully linguistic universe of this collective and experience the rise and fall of humanity. For one last time, BLAUWDRUK presents these three acclaimed productions from their repertoire in a comprehensive theatrical evening, spanning from Adam and Eve to the end of days.
