Info
Turbine Songs is an artwork that explores the sound of the energy transition. Roaring engines fall silent, making way for the hum of electronics and the rhythmic whirring of wind turbine blades. Does this make things quieter? Can suppressed sounds of nature find their voice again? Can humans, technology, and nature resonate together? Feel it for yourself, right in the heart of the landscape.
Turbine Songs is a sound and landscape installation built from the remnants of consumer society. Dozens of wind turbines generate electricity and convert it directly into sound. Together, they create a spatial soundscape that is constantly in motion. The installation is operated live by the artist. Without wind, there is no sound—in this way, the artwork presents self-sufficiency as a tangible experiment. The interdependence between humans, technology, and nature becomes clearly palpable. As a result, energy production shifts from an invisible utility to a sensory experience.
Turbine Songs is a wind farm to wander through, to listen to, and to reimagine how we relate to energy, the landscape, and one another.
Visual arts can be visited daily from Saturday 13 June between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
