In Alleen een wonder, Johannes Lievens tells the story of someone saved by a kiwi plant, someone undone by five digits, and someone whose life was changed by an encounter at the foot of the Himalayas. Can a story save someone? An ode to the unexpected twist.

In Alleen een wonder, Johannes joins drummer Orlan Ghekiere on a night-long, feverish journey in search of something to hold on to. Two years ago, Johannes came to Oerol with De eenzame stad, created under the wings of theatre company Martha!tentatief. For Alleen een wonder, actors Johan Petit and Suzanne Grotenhuis have once again lent their support to Johannes’ writing and performance process.

This show is part of the Explore the North Hub. During Oerol, Explore the North presents work by talents affiliated with its production house at various locations across the island within this Hub. Explore the North is a production house and festival based at Podium Explore in Leeuwarden.
