BARBARA. is a project by Barbara van Velzen. She creates synth-drenched alternative pop in Dutch, with lyrics that chafe against uncomfortable themes such as the fear of death and the fear of abandonment.

BARBARA. takes the audience on an immersive journey, where layered synthesizers and nervous drums create a tension between fragility and bombast. Her performance constantly shifts between distance and intimacy: cool and alienating on one hand, yet raw and personal on the other. BARBARA. invites you to surrender to this dynamic and perhaps recognize a piece of yourself within it.
