Info
Fer is on a deadline is a one-man show inspired by a year of terrible timing: a friend’s death, a scary diagnosis, and a breakup. Blending comedy, touching stories and songwriting, Fer opens up on how to continue living your life when you know you are going to be sick, you just don’t know when.
Fer’s negative feelings about death began when he was a teenager. That is, until his therapist at the time, a woman who could never remember his name, freed him from his fear.
Therapist: ‘You allow yourself to be paralyzed by the fear of death so that you don’t have to face the stress of living. You kneel before the only problem you cannot solve, just so you don’t have to solve the problems you actually can. What you’re afraid of isn’t death, Federico. What you’re afraid of is life.’
Fer: ‘My name is Fernando.’
Therapist: ‘Yes, Fernando. Sorry.’
In a search for the meaning of it all, Fer creates a personal performance at a moment when the Grim Reaper seems to be waving at him from across the street.
