Krismika is deeply embedded in the Rotterdam underground scene, both behind the decks and behind the scenes. Her sound is broad yet clearly rooted in the 1980s. Inspired by that era, her sets frequently feature electro, new beat, EBM, wave, acid house, and Italo disco.
In addition to her work as a DJ, Krismika is a programmer at the renowned radio station and cultural platform Operator. She has a passion for opening sets and radio shows filled with downtempo rarities, which she showcases in her bimonthly radio show Same but Different. Previously, she was active as an event organizer for the underground record label Pinkman and conducted research into gender dynamics within the Dutch electronic underground scene. Despite her academic and curatorial background, she feels just as much at home spinning records in the middle of the night in a dark, sweaty basement.
