Performer Erwin Kiene specialises in the explosive dance style KRUMP (Kingdom Radically Uplifted Mighty Praise). Through it, he expresses his emotions, thoughts and the cultural differences that live within him. His body speaks where words fall short – MYST is a reflection on and deconstruction of his own identity.
In a society that imposes expectations and creates masks, Erwin Kiene chooses the path inward. Silence becomes his weapon: a strategic tool that radiates mystery and strength, while beneath that silence a deeper struggle unfolds – the tension between who he is and who he is expected to be. How do you dismantle a persona you have created yourself? In MYST, Kiene does so through KRUMP. A physical and spiritual journey towards liberation.
