You walk into the unknown with your eyes closed. You don’t know where you’re headed, but you keep walking. With every step, the world around you fades further away. Until all you have to hold onto is a hand. How do you surrender to what you cannot see?
Passing on is a journey to the edge of life. Together with someone you don’t know, you explore the no-man’s-land we enter when we die. You move between control and surrender, between holding on and letting go.
It is an intimate encounter with death, in the other and in yourself. A consoling experience in which life is passed from hand to hand. Become part of a chain of people who will never see one another, yet carry each other through.
Passing On is an audio experience that can be enjoyed in both Dutch and English. The subject matter and themes of the performance may potentially evoke strong emotional responses.
This unique performance is designed for only six participants at a time, and you will play an active role in the experience. As a result, you may occasionally have to wait for a short while, but without your participation the performance cannot go ahead. Therefore, it is very important that we know as soon as possible if, at the last minute, you are unable to attend and your ticket will go unused. You can do so by calling Werkplaats van de Woestijne on +31 (0)6 81148138. Please note: cancelling at the last minute does not entitle you to a refund of the ticket price.

The performance includes a walk of approximately 3.5 kilometres across soft sand and along the beach and may be less suitable for people with limited mobility.
