Pedro Kastelijns & QBAE

Inspired by the chaotic urbanisation of Brazil and the standardised Dutch landscape, Pedro Kastelijns & QBAE present a colourful ritual centred on the question: ‘How do you build a house and live in it?’ Rooted in Brazilian sounds, jazz, rock, MC and improvisation, their concerts offer both sincere performances and theatrical experiments.

Pedro Kastelijns (Goiânia, Brazil) is a songwriter, producer and visual artist based in Amsterdam. He is currently working around the question ‘How do you build a house and live in it?’: a metaphor for the search for a physical and emotional home, directly shaped by his move to the Netherlands in 2017. Together with QBAE, a rotating ensemble led by fellow Brazilian Gabriel de Oliveira, he has given a series of energetic shows in the Netherlands and Brazil, which he now brings to Oerol.
