Info
Rhythm of the Tide is a film about the relationship between man and landscape, and about the passage of time. For two years, throughout all seasons, filmmaker and photographer Isabelle la Poutré spent time in and around De Streken. In the summer, she moved among the people, catching snatches of conversation about the island, life, and the artwork itself. In the winter, she watched alone as the tide ebbed and flowed around the hushed echo of the installation. She encountered birds, the mudflats, the rising water, and the people moving through it. Through her solitary way of working, Isabelle captures that which slowly unfolds.
