The Wanderers

Inspired by floating forms and fascinated by liminal spaces, swaying, and letting go, Valerie van Leersum created the inviting installation: The Wanderers. Her research led her to travelers who allow themselves to be carried by the great currents of sea and sky: light-footed seeds, microscopic creatures, and plankton. Come, and go with the flow.

The Wanderers is an installation based on the movement of these humble roamers. Though they are microscopic and often overlooked, they form the foundation of all life. Their wandering is not a lonely journey, but a participation in the great cycle of existence. What appears aimless is, in essence, a profound connection. Amidst the dunes of Hoorn, seven objects move with the wind, together forming a choreography of surrender. They invite you to experience and listen to what this movement has to tell.

Visual arts can be visited daily from Saturday 13 June between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
