Info
The installation Who are we? invites people to talk about our slavery past. This life-size version of the Who is it game tells a story about our Dutch history. Expand your knowledge about our past together and discover what impact the slavery past still has on the Netherlands today.
At the end of 2022, the Dutch government apoligized to all enslaved people (and their descendants) who suffered under Dutch colonial rule. Following up to this, the government wants to start a conversation about these topics in the country. Therefore together with the Public Cinema agency and De Balie the government has developed Who are we?. This installation has been artistically designed and created by Mathieu Wijdeven. Who are we? is traveling through the country, from Terschelling to Venlo, to start a national conversation about our slavery past and its impact on the present.
