The future of the Wadden Sea: how is it linked to ocean currents, atmospheric rivers, and marine life in seas far from here? How are oceans changing due to global warming, and what effects are we already noticing? Kees Foekema discusses these questions with Professor Appy Sluijs and artist Marjolijn Boterenbrood – as well as the question of whether the tide can still be turned.

The Wadden Sea is connected to seas across the globe. In the waters around Terschelling, marine life is rich with species hailing from afar: the Black Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico. The sea is changing; marine life migrates and does not adhere to human borders. In the installationMarine Migrants, Marjolijn Boterenbrood brings this hidden life to the surface. Two public discussions take place around her work: an Ebb and a Flood conversation. The Flood conversation with Boterenbrood and Professor of Paleoceanography Appy Sluijs from Utrecht University explores ecological changes, both large and small, and the future of the sea. Moderated by Kees Foekema.

Dates and times will be announced at a later date.
