After Oerol 2026, many of the productions that premiered at the festival will continue their journey to festivals and theatres in the Netherlands and abroad. Some will head out on tour almost immediately, while others will return in the months ahead in new versions or follow-up presentations. Curious where you can see them again? We’ve rounded them up for you below.
This overview will be updated with additional productions in the coming weeks.
Monki Business – Uitkijkers
In Uitkijkers, four acrobats climb a seven-metre-high climbing structure and explore the future from great heights. Balancing on steel frameworks and swinging from pole to pole, they bring the wildest visions of the future to life, ranging from absurd fantasies to hopeful horizons.
After performing with complete focus for ten consecutive days atop Seinpaalduin, Uitkijkers reached new heights. You can still experience the performance on 27 June 2026 at CC Amstel in Amsterdam, from 1 to 5 July during Deventer Op Stelten, in early August at Theater Op De Markt in Hasselt, and from 18 to 22 August during BosFest in Amsterdam.
Orkater/De Nieuwkomers: PATROON – Geschiedenis van een ongeluk
With their debut production Geschiedenis van een ongeluk (History of an Accident), PATROON explores what it truly means to listen to one another in a world where opinions often drown out conversation. The newest music theatre collective from Orkater/De Nieuwkomers, who have launched their work at Oerol for many years, combines three-part harmonies, minimalist bass lines and compositions that gradually unravel into an intimate portrait of someone desperately trying to make a connection.
Geschiedenis van een ongeluk premieres on 25 September 2026 at De Schuur in Haarlem and will then tour theatres across the Netherlands until 31 October.
Studio Vacuüm / NKK NXT – An Elegy
Ten performers, voice, breath, percussion and nature as a fellow performer. In An Elegy, Studio Vacuüm and NKK NXT allow people and landscape to slowly merge into one another. A contemplative experience that invites audiences to listen differently to the world around them. During Oerol, An Elegy returned to the landscape where it first took shape as part of the Oerol Werkplaats.
An Elegy (concert version) will be performed on 13 September 2026 at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam.
Bambie – Bambie Gaat Tot De Bodem
In Bambie Gaat Tot De Bodem (Bambie Gets to the Bottom of It), theatre company Bambie dives into the absurd world of nature management. With their signature physical humour, they reveal how well-intentioned land managers become entangled in regulations, clash with stubborn plants and take on an invasive species that always seems one step ahead.
Bambie Gaat Tot De Bodem will be performed on 30 and 31 August 2026 during the Zeeland Nazomerfestival.
Cello Octet Amsterdam / Sophie van Winden – CODA
In CODA, 100-year-old Magda celebrates the final hour of her life, accompanied by the music of composer and climate activist Ryuichi Sakamoto. Thinking of her great-grandson, she wonders what must not disappear with her. A musical ode to all living things that sparks the imagination of those left behind. CODA took its first steps during Oerol 2025 at the Strandtheater and returned in 2026 as a site-specific production.
CODA will be performed from 31 August to 4 September 2026 during the Zeeland Nazomerfestival, followed by a nationwide theatre tour running from November 2026 to February 2027.
Theater Rotterdam / Mathieu Wijdeven – Helstone in Het Pand der Goden
In Helstone in Het Pand der Goden, theatre maker Mathieu Wijdeven explores the significance of the first Surinamese opera, for which his great-great-grandfather once designed the stage sets. Through this remarkable family history, he unravels what this work—rooted in Surinamese stories and shaped by European operatic traditions—still has to tell us more than a century later. During Oerol 2025, Mathieu carried out initial research for the project under the title M8: Helstone as part of the Oerol Werkplaats.
The theatre version of Helstone in Het Pand der Goden will be performed from 10 to 12 September 2026 at Theater Rotterdam, before touring theatres across the Netherlands.
Het Zuidelijk Toneel – Not Quichot
In Not Quichot, five people gather in a deserted car park to commemorate their late friend Q. But who was he really? A lorry driver, a myth, or someone who could effortlessly bend reality to his will? Following Rijgen and Crashtest Ibsen, Sarah Moeremans and Joachim Robbrecht present a contemporary, playful adaptation of the classic Don Quixote.
Not Quichot will be performed from 3 to 6 September 2026 at the Amsterdamse Bostheater.
Nicole Beutler Projects / Rematriation – ROOM IN OUR HOUSE
In ROOM IN OUR HOUSE, two men meet, connected by a shared yet profoundly unequal colonial history. One is the child of survivors, the other the descendant of colonisers. Through their bodies, memories and contrasting perspectives, they explore whether reconciliation is possible when two worlds collide. The special site-specific version of ROOM IN OUR HOUSE premiered at Oerol 2026.
ROOM IN OUR HOUSE will be performed on 4 and 5 July 2026 during Julidans, before touring theatres across the Netherlands from 14 October to 14 November 2026.
YoungGangsters – North Side Story
In North Side Story, YoungGangsters gives a contemporary twist to Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story. In a neighbourhood where long-time residents and newcomers are deeply divided, a love story blossoms that defies every boundary. With music, humour, slapstick and raw spectacle, this action musical lays bare the tensions between pride and change, meat and veganism, lager and kombucha.
North Side Story will be performed from 1 to 5 July 2026 at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam.
Remy van Kesteren – Threads
In Threads, harpist and composer Remy van Kesteren brings together his classical background and his love of electronic music. Following Oerol, Threads will tour a number of theatres across the Netherlands, including Amare in The Hague, Schouwburg Tilburg, PHIL Haarlem and the Wilminktheater in Enschede.
Tall Tales Company – Droplines
In Droplines, three world-class jugglers place not their perfect catches, but their mistakes centre stage. Through hypnotic juggling patterns and inventive choreography, they transform failure into powerful metaphors for performance pressure, self-doubt and the expectations of others. Specially for the forests of Terschelling, Tall Tales Company created a unique Oerol version of Droplines.
Following Oerol, Droplines will tour festivals in the Netherlands and abroad, including Crooswijk op Stelten, Deventer Op Stelten, Theater op de Markt, Fête des Artistes de Chassepierre and Festes de la Mercè.

Following the Oerol successes Bedtime Stories, Bobby Baxter and The Last Chapters, URLAND presents an experimental, immersive production that unfolds before a story even begins.
Before The Story Starts premieres on 23 September 2026 at Frascati in Amsterdam and will then tour theatres across the Netherlands until 31 October.
Anne-Fay Kops / Orkater – Aisa Demeter
In Aisa Demeter, Aisa’s daughter is abducted by her own shadow. As Aisa desperately searches for answers, she explores the forces hidden within her own darker side. Anne-Fay Kops and Orkater present a modern myth about loss, anger and the question of what it takes to recover what has been lost.
Aisa Demeter was presented at the Bostheater during Oerol 2026 and will be performed this summer at De Parade and Theaterfestival Boulevard.
Dolf Jansen – HalfJaarsConference
What began at Oerol as a series of unique HalfJaarsConferences staged across the island has grown into an evening of political madness, humanity, poetry and unexpected detours. In Schaamteloos – Oudejaars 2026, Dolf Jansen looks back on the year as only he can: sharp, topical, engaged and with plenty of room for improvisation.
Following Oerol, Dolf Jansen continues his extensive nationwide tour, which began on 22 June 2026.
Tom Lanoye – ReinAard
In ReinAard, writer and performer Tom Lanoye breathes new life into the legendary fox. With his trademark linguistic flair, sharp observations and captivating storytelling, he transforms this classic into a contemporary tale of power, manipulation and the art of deception. A literary spectacle that effortlessly shifts between soaring poetry and biting humour.
Following a five-day serial performance at the Bostheater during Oerol, ReinAard continues its journey to theatres and festivals across the Netherlands and Belgium, including its official premiere at Theater aan Zee.
Productiehuis Flow – Beckett & 50 Cent

Together with drummer Orlan Ghekiere, he searches for something to hold on to in a world that defies prediction. A personal, musical tribute to the power of storytelling.
