The European network IN SITU, of which Oerol is a co-founder and partner, has officially launched the latest PLATFORM Open Call #3! The open call focuses on emerging creators with an artistic project in development and the ambition to take it further internationally.

Learn, share, and develop within a European network

With Open Call #3, creators get a unique platform to expand their practice internationally. The trajectory starts between March and June 2027 with an online training program. Here, you will learn more about artistic creation in public space at a European level, including peer-to-peer sessions with experienced IN SITU creators, in-depth videos, and support sessions with On The Move.

Immersive Labs

Between May and September 2027, a six-day artistic workshop will follow, specially designed for emerging IN SITU creators to offer inspiration and depth for your artistic practice. During an Immersive Lab, you will gather on-site at one of the European partners. Together with around fifteen creators, you will attend workshops, view performances, and present your plans to a panel of international programmers. Participating creators receive an allowance of €1,500 per creator and a contribution toward travel expenses, meals, and accommodation.

Production Residencies

The goal of this open call is to give projects greater depth and accelerate their development. Beyond inspiration and a valuable network, participation opens the door to follow-up trajectories. A selection of ten projects will progress to production residencies, after which the program will conclude with a FOCUS event during La Strada Graz in Austria in the summer of 2028.

Important dates and practical information

Open Call #3 is for anyone working on an artistic project in public space. You can submit your proposal from Friday, October 30, 2026, up to and including Wednesday, December 9, 2026 (12:00 PM CET). Would you like more information or to get a better feel for the program? The coordination team is hosting two online information sessions on November 17 at 2:30 PM and November 26 at 12:30 PM. IN SITU will announce the selected names in February 2027.

You can find all the information about the open call via the button below. The information material is also available as an audio version, a video with English subtitles, in large font, and on a calm neutral background.

Oerol and the IN SITU network

Oerol is a co-founder of IN SITU, and we are proud that the network continues to develop, attract new members, and remain a valuable resource for creators in this new phase. Over the past twenty years, many Dutch creators have found their way abroad through the network—such as Studio Vacuüm, Wandelende Duinen, R3LN4CHT, Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, Via Berlin, and Johannes Bellinkx.
