Ten people attempt to merge with nature. Voice, breath, and percussion meld with the wind, sand, and grass to create a living painting. Not a performance to be watched, but a moment to disappear into. An invitation to listen more deeply. To the earth. To everything that lives.
Sand, grass, breath, movement, birds, a chance passer-by, and percussion come together to form a musical painting: the act of watching slowly transforms into taking part. In an age where humanity and nature seem further apart than ever, the trainees of the Netherlands Chamber Choir (NKK), a physical performer, and a percussionist attempt to merge with their surroundings. In doing so, they pose the question: are we actually still capable of that? For this performance, composer and director Mees Vervuurt has created a new composition in which all singers perform in their native tongues: Korean, Catalan, Occitan, French, Portuguese, Dutch, and Cypriot-Greek.
