What happens to language when you strip it of proper grammar, the urge to communicate, and good manners? In Blabbermouth, Joost Oomen, Jos Nargy, and Joep Hendrikx explore gibberish: the result is an absurd, poetic, and wildly swirling verbal cascade.
Jack Spicer was a poet from San Francisco who, in his exploration of gibberish, placed random café visitors on a crate in the corner: they were allowed to throw out any wild thought, obscene word, primal sound, or sentence that came to mind. The most beautiful gibberish won a prize. Poets Oomen, Nargy, and Hendrikx pick up the thread of Spicer’s research during this edition of Oerol.
