They describe themselves as ‘indie glam’: the four Amsterdam-based members of Dixi draw inspiration from the early 2000s garage-rock revival, combined with elements of ’80s rock and modern pop. During the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, frontman Sidney Francis began experimenting with songwriting. Ten songs flowed from his fingers, and soon after, guitarist and childhood friend Berend Boot joined in. The unique sound of drummer Sjoerd Wielinga and funk bassist Isa Kistemaker completes the quartet, elevating Sidney’s demos to a new level. After many rehearsals, Dixi now stands strong!
