Info
The musicians of Lo Poloko have deep roots in Mexican, Chilean, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese cultures, coming together in Rotterdam. Latin music forms the foundation of their sound, but it’s a constant exploration for new sounds thereafter. Rock, ska, cumbia, reggae, Balkan, dub: everything blends into a delightful mix in the Lo Poloko machine.
Lo Poloko’s debut album, Living la Covida Loca (2023), draws inspiration from the band members’ experiences during the alienating COVID-19 period. It’s a stunning sonic journey across the globe. They describe their sound as the Big Tropical Bang, and it’s quite a fitting label.
