Info
This community loves salt. Together, we are starting a wave movement towards living with the sea. Can we turn the tide and embrace the sea again in our daily lives? Expand your sense of landscape and discover our connection with the sea by looking into the eyes of your aquatic ancestors.
Despite climate change and rising sea levels, societal drivers such as housing or agriculture continue to dictate how we design and manage our landscape. De Onkruidenier shifts the perspective; how can we learn to adapt to the climate challenges of our time? Instead of building dykes, let’s adapt our lungs! In this film installation, you embark on a journey from the sink to the underwater world of coral reefs. We activate the pores of our skin and dive to the seabed with marine biologist Lisa Becking. Through the eyes of the sea sponge, we see how our skin and household are intertwined with this ancient organism. Can we find our way back to the intertidal zone?
This Expedition can be visited daily from June 8th, between 11:00 and 17:00.
