In the multi-year art project Motus Mori, Katja Heitmann collects and preserves human movement. But how do you preserve movement? In Motus Mori MUSEUM, dancers serve as the archive. For four hours a day, they keep the ‘human movement’ alive. A unique exhibition of choreographic portraits.
Studying the archives of humanity reveals a one-sided image focused on measurability. We reduce humans to fixed, comparable data, to categorizable differences. Is this how we want to be remembered? This exhibition offers an impressive view of the moving human through choreographic portraits. A choreography for belly fat, the anatomy of a sigh… Over 1900 people have donated their personal movement, upon which the choreographer continuously creates new artworks.
Motus Mori MUSEUM is an ongoing performance. From the start time indicated on your ticket, you can wander through the exhibition for as long as you like.
