Innofest

Innofest supports startups in testing their impactful innovations at festivals and in living labs, aiming to accelerate a social and sustainable transition.

Within the project ‘Green and Inclusive Forward’, Innofest, Oerol, and DGTL join forces to promote a green and inclusive festival sector by testing innovations at both festivals. In 2024, various innovations will be tested, including a sustainable barter app, female-friendly mobile urinals, and a special app for receiving notifications regarding social safety. This app enables users to report incidents and allows security services to respond more quickly to emergencies.

During Oerol Festival 2024 the following will be tested:

  • PeePal, a unisex urinal for festivals. It provides efficient, hygienic sanitary facilities and more opportunities for filtering urine.
  • Plaex, a trash can that separates waste using AI.
  • Holy Swap, for maximizing product usage and minimizing consumption impact.
  • Nieuws van de Bouw, an app for communication with residents of Terschelling about Oerol and for incident notifications during Oerol.
  • Tweak, testing mobility accessibility through vlogs.
  • Techtics, collecting and efficiently compressing outdoor cans, providing them with a QR code for deposit processing.
  • Skik Analytics, a crowd management tool with prediction technology.
