Due to the crowded conditions on the island during the Oerol Festival, we advise against bringing a car to Terschelling.
If it’s absolutely necessary to come by car, remember to book well in advance with Rederij Doeksen. Cars and motorcycles can only be transported on the regular ferry service, not on the fast ferry.
On the island, we advise you to park outside the villages as much as possible. There is limited parking at the festival hub, and most performance and Expedition locations do not have parking facilities. Some locations can only be reached by bike.
Parking with a disabled parking permit is free at designated parking lots. As part of Terschelling is not accessible to cars without exemption, shuttle transportation can be requested. Please contact us via toegankelijkheid@oerol.nl.
A taxi service is available on the island, so if it’s not absolutely necessary to bring a car, that’s also an option.
